First Photos of the Beauty and the Beast Live Action Remake

June 2024 · 2 minute read

Everyone has been very excited for the live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast which features Emma Watson as Belle.

There has been lots of speculation over how the characters will look in comparison to their cartoon form.

Credited as a co-producer for the film, Jack Morrissey released some images last Friday on his Facebook.

One in particular showing Dan Stevens as the Beast in what seems to be his human form.

Another picture shows the concept art of the iconic French candelabra Lumiere and Cogsworth who we came to know and love from the classic 1991 cartoon version.

Ewan McGregor will be voicing the charming Lumiere while Ian McKellen is set to play Cogsworth.

“These designs are close but may not be final,” Morrissey wrote about the picture.

Emma Watson is set to play Belle but no pictures were shown of her.

However, one of the pictures also shows us Luke Evans as Gaston and Josh Gad as his sidekick Le Fou, seemingly singing Gaston’s song.

The co-producer teased that these images are part of a special sneak peek that will be released alongside the upcoming 25th Anniversary Edition of Disney’s 1991 animated “Beauty and the Beast.”

Although no pictures were shown of her, Emma Thompson will play Mrs. Potts and Gugu Mbatha-Raw will be Plumette.

The rest of the cast includes Stanley Tucci, Kevin Kline and Audra McDonald.

The live remake is coming to theatres March, 2017.

You can see what the castle is set to look like and also catch a glimpse of Watson as Belle in the teaser trailer:
