A few months ago, Denise Richards took it upon herself to announce that the E! Network had renewed her family reality show Denise Richards: It’s Complicated. The thing was, E! hadn’t actually made that decision at the time. Well, it appears they must have been leaning that way and Richards just jumped the gun, because it’s now official. E! is giving us another season of Denise Richards, her down-home dad, and her perpetually sad children.
It’s apparently still complicated for Denise Richards.
The E! network said Wednesday that it has ordered a second season of the model-actress’ reality show, “Denise Richards: It’s Complicated.”
The first episode, which debuted in May, was originally watched by 1.5 million viewers while the season finale was seen by 976,000 people, according to Nielsen Media Research.
Richards was divorced from Charlie Sheen in 2006; the two were embroiled in a bitter custody battle over their two young daughters, who often appeared in the first season of the reality show.

When I’m having a lazy slow Saturday or Sunday, and an It’s Complicated marathon is on, I’ll admit that I’ll watch it for quite a few episodes in a row. I’m not disappointed it’s back. Richards has to make money somehow to feed her crazy number of dogs, pigs, cats, and kids – not to mention her father. And her father really is the best part of the show, so she better feed him well!
Denise herself isn’t completely uninteresting. It’s at times compelling to watch this woman with no discernable talents try to remain relevant in Hollywood. And she’s honest enough with herself to know that she doesn’t possess the talent to stand on alone and that it takes some work and some definite manipulation to keep her name on the lips of the movers and shakers of L.A. She’s fairly shameless, and shamelessness is the hallmark of entertaining reality shows. I’ll still watch her in reruns on a boring, long Saturday afternoon.
