If you’ve ever been to Florida than you know that it can get a bit hot. If you’ve never been to Florida, just climb inside your oven and make sure it has 2000% humidity. It’s like that, but a little muggier. Yeah, the Magic Kingdom is the most magical place on earth, but sometimes that can be hard to remember when the sole of your shoes have melted to the concrete. With that in mind, here are a few sure fire ways to beat the heat while you’re visiting the park.
1. Splash Mountain
This might be the most obvious option: Splash Mountain in Frontier Land. Along with getting soaking wet, you’ll spend a fair amount of time winding your way along a dark, cool river through the world of Br’er Rabbit and friends.
2. Casey Jr. Splash ‘N’ Soak
Located in Storybook Circus, Casey Jr.’s Splash ‘N’ Soak is an outdoor play area featuring Casey Jr., the train from Dumbo. The train carries a whole menagerie of circus animals, with the giraffes and elephants spraying water on Guests.
3. Tiki Heads Near the Jungle Cruise
Just in front of the stairs to the Jungle Cruise and directly across from The Magic Carpets of Aladdin in Adventureland, sits another watery oasis. A grouping of tiki head statues spray streams of water that guests can run through to get a little relief from the sweltering heat.
4. The Magic Carpets of Aladdin
Speaking of Aladdin, The Magic Carpets of Aladdin attraction also contains a small water feature. The camels which stand sentry there occasionally spit water at the passing carpets. If you need a little relief, just steer your carpet into the line of fire.
5. Free Ice Water!
It’s no secret that drinks and snacks at the Magic Kingdom can be a little pricey (though more than worth the cost). However, you may not know that any restaurant inside the Magic Kingdom will provide Guests with free ice water on request. It’s just one more way that Disney looks to provide their Guests with a magical experience.
